The following candidates can take part in the selections:
Only citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan can study abroad in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs.
For doctoral programs:
• Between the ages of 22-45;
• Those who have not previously earned a PhD abroad;
• Have at least two years of work experience in their chosen field (excluding candidates recommended by the institution of higher education).
For master’s programs:
• Between the ages of 20-45;
• Has not previously studied for a master’s degree abroad in a similar field;
• Have at least two years of work experience in their chosen field (excluding candidates recommended by the institution of higher education).
Undergraduate programs:
• Under 25 years of age;
• Has not previously studied abroad in an undergraduate program in a similar field.
Required documents for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs abroad are included in the regulations on the procedure for conducting an open selection of candidates for educational programs of The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation for Training Abroad and Communicating with Compatriots.
Documents will be submitted through the online platform from June 25 to July 25, 2024.
Selection of candidates is carried out in two stages:
Phase 1 involves the adoption, analysis and registration of documents in accordance with the requirements set out in this Regulation.
Phase 2 candidates will be interviewed in the state language to determine the purpose of their study abroad and the opportunities to apply the knowledge gained in Uzbekistan after graduation, as well as the level of knowledge and skills in their chosen field.
The Board of Trustees of the Foundation has the right to decide on additional tests to determine the level of intellectual, analytical and creative abilities of candidates.
The decision of the Board of Trustees of the Fund to approve the results of the selection of the Fund’s educational programs will be announced within one month after the competition.
Candidates who successfully pass the open selection will be awarded certificates in the form prescribed by the Board of Trustees.
As a rule, the educational institutions for studying abroad are are selected from among foreign Educational, Scientific and other institutions or the most advanced 300 (or 100) academic and scientific institutions of the internationally recognized academic ranking, such as THE (The Times Higher Education World University Rankings), QS (Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings), The U. S. News and World Report (Best Global University Rankings) and ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities).
Those who pass the open selection (hereinafter referred to as scholarship holders) will be allocated the following expenses for studying abroad:
Reimbursement of tuition fees for bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral studies in foreign educational, scientific and other institutions, ministries, industrial, innovative companies and other organizations;
Obtaining visas by scholarship holders;
Expenses for travel of scholarship holders to the place of study by all means of transport (in both directions, no more than once a year);
Accommodation, meals and transportation expenses of the fellows during their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral studies;
Acquisition of the necessary educational and scientific literature, including textbooks, publication of scientific articles in accordance with the requirements of a foreign educational, scientific or other institution where the scholarship holder is studying, copying (downloading) scientific articles, subscription to an electronic database of articles and scientific literature;
Medical insurance of scholarship holders during their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral studies abroad;
Other expenses of the scholarship holders directly related to studying abroad, by the decision of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
The limited amount of expenses allocated to one scholarship holder for each educational program is determined by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
